He is so involved with her. We are really lucky. Lots of dads don't really have anything to do with their kids and it is so nice to see him help out so much and he even willingly changes diapers without being asked! awesome!

I have been working on a couple of tu tu sets.

This on is turquoise and black with a detachable zebra bow.

Comes with a matching headband with a detachable black flower that has a blue bling center.

Matching leg warmers with three layers. Top layer is turquoise tulle, middle tutu layer is black, and then a layer of zebra fabric : )

This one is pink and black with ribbon tied in with the tulle

Also comes with leg warmers that have three layers of pink tulle, black tulle, and leopard print fabric. The black headband comes with a detachable heart shaped yoyo fascinator. : )

Joshua Tree National Park 2011

This week you can get into all National Parks for FREE! We decided to head to Joshua Tree National Park just a few minutes from out house. We haven't been for a couple years when we first moved here. We didn't venture in too far or do any of the hikes but we checked out the cactus garden and some rock formations.

Recently we went to our friend's, the Stocks, wedding ceremony. It was a really beautiful ceremony and I got all teary eyed! I never cry lol.

After that we decided to visit the beach while we were already down there.

We went to Mission Beach and it was tons of fun! A little chilly still but Bella loved it.

I suddenly got a ton of custom tu tu orders. They are taking over my house! lol. Two purple ones for twins with matching headbands. Grey and black Raiders tu tu and I ordered a custom Raiders Bow from My Lil Bow Shop. A pink newborn tu tu. Possibly and black and white and pink tu tu. One person still deciding what colors they want with matching leg warmers. lol it's gonna be a lot of work! Good thing I love doing it. : )

Baby Footprints

When my daughter just came home from the hospital I put ink on her feet and stamped them in her baby book. To get the rest of the ink off I took a piece of paper and stamped her foot down the side three times. Well I scanned the paper and thought it might be cute to print out as stationary or make a background out of or whatever you want to use it for. Feel free to steal them if you would like.

My Girly Girl

Now some people insist that I force girlyness upon my daughter against her will. But the truth is I just let her be her. Sometimes she can be such a tomboy. I let her play in the mud and get messy. Whatever. But she can be such a girl at times. Sometimes she will bring me a tutu and scream for me to put it on her. The other day she found some nail polish and brought it to me and pointed to her toes. So I painted them. She always watches me put makeup on and yesterday while I was putting on makeup she stood up on the toilet, grabbed some eyeshadow, and started putting it on her face. She would get some on her finger, put it on her face, then look in the mirror and say, "Oh wow!" or "Oooooh pitty!" (oh pretty) She loves giving herself and me makeovers. I didn't force her to be girly she just is. I am sure she will also be happy to go "catch rattlesnakes" and do other outdoor stuff as well......as long as she can wear her tutu!!!!

Recycled Layette Gowns

I am working on recycling some of our old tshirts and making them into baby layette gowns. It is really fun. I like the lacy corset one cuz it's kind of gothic and edgy and the pictures on the sleeves kinda look like tattoos or something and also the wings I added to the back are a cool touch. I like the red lace on the sleeves too. This one was super fun to make. The Twilight one with matching vampire leg warmers would be fun for a Twilight fan i thought. I have a couple others in progress. woot woot. sewing away like a super granny.

Christmas 2010

Last Christmas Bella was only 3 months old so I was pretty excited about this being her first Christmas she really cared about. She loved taking the ornament off the tree and redecorating it.

Here she is Christmas morning. She loved all the surprises in her stocking.

Since we live in the Mojave Desert in Southern CA she has never seen snow before. She loved it but got mad that it was so cold to play with!

She got this huge lightup gun from her uncle and she loves it! She is such a tough little princess. She pulls the trigger over and over.

In my tiny bit of spare time I was able to make a few Halloween costumes for our shop.

This one is a princess kitty with a cameo onesie, matching leg warmers, and a headband with kitty ears and a crown to match the kitty on the outfit.

It even has a little tail on the back!

New Nissan Rogue!!!

Messy Food Face

Here is a video of my daughter falling asleep in her food. My daughter was eating really well for months. She would clear her whole tray and still want more. Now she just wants to throw it all on the floor and smear it in her hair. It makes me feel like she is not getting enough to eat. I guess she is a big girl for her age and she is healthy and strong and if she gets hungry she will eat instead of throwing it on the floor lol. I shouldn't worry.

Upcycled Layette Gowns

My husband and I have finally started going through the garage and we found a zillion tie dyed t-shirts. He didn't want most of them so I washed them all and didn't really know what to do with them. Finally I decided to recycle them into layette gowns. It is pretty fun!

Here is the old t-shirt with my pattern layed out on it. I got the pattern from when I made some layette gowns for humanitarian aid for the church to send to other countries.

Here is the finsihed result. What do you think? I am going to decorate it some more but not really sure what to put on it. ANY IDEAS!?

Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies

Today I made chocolate marshmallow cookies. I am pretty proud that they turned out good. I also made Chili ConQueso dip yesterday. It turned out super thick so we had chili con queso nachos instead of dip lol. This cooking from scratch thing is pretty fun!

CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW COOKIES

1/2 cup butter,softened

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-3/4 cups all purpose flour

1/3 cup baking cocoa

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

16-18 large marshmallows

ICING:

6 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons baking cocoa

1/4 cup milk

1-3/4 cups powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

16-18 pecan halves

1 In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; beat into creamed mixture.

2 Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Meanwhile, cut marshmallows in half. Press a marshmallow half cut side down onto each cookie. Bake 2 minutes longer. Remove to wire racks to cool.

3 For icing, combine the butter, cocoa and milkin a saucepan. Bring to boil; boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Cool slightly; transfer to a small mixing bowl. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat well. Drizzle over the cooled cookies. Top each with a pecan half.

Yield: about 3 dozen

Pizza Pie

My husband and I decided to start cooking from scratch more because it is cheaper and healthier. Also it is fun and satisfying. So far we have made fajitas, stir fry, and pizza pie. I am really proud of my pizza pie. I had to kneed the dough and everything! I didn't have a pizza pan so it is kinda square instead of round but it was delicious! It came out perfect and golden brown. My husband ate half of the beast in one sitting! The rest was gone the next day. : )

Crust

1 Pkg. Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix

1 cup hot water (110-120 degrees F)

1 egg, slightly beaten

Filling

1 large onion, sliced

1 medium red bell pepper, cut into julienne strips

1 tablespoon oil

1 teaspoon basil leaves

1 teaspoon oregano leaves

8oz. can tomato sauce

3 1/2 oz. pkg. sliced pepporoni

15 oz. carton ricotta cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, slightly beaten

8 oz. (2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese

1 egg, slightly beaten

1 tablespoon water

Grease 12 inch pizza pan. Open Hot Roll Mix. In large bowl, combine flour mixture and yeast from foil packet; mix well. Stir in hot water and 1 egg until dry particles are moistened. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. With greased or floured hands, shape dough into a ball. Knead dough for two to three minutes or until smooth and no longer sticky. Reserve about 1/4 cup dough for decorative cutouts. Divide remaining dough into two equal parts; shape into balls and cover loosely with plastic wrap while preparing filling.

In large skillet over medium heat, saute onion and red pepper in oil until vegetables are crisp-tender. Add basil, oregano, tomato sauce, and pepperoni; simmer 5 minutes.

In small bowl, combine ricotta, parmesan, and 1 egg. Mix well.

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. On lightly floured surface,roll half of dough into 14 inch circle. Place in prepared pan; spoon hot pepperoni mixture over dough. Spoon ricotta mixture evenly over pepperoni; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Roll second half of dough into 14 inch circle; place on top of filling. Fold edge of top crust ender bottom crust; flute to seal. With tip of knife, make 5 slits in top crust for steam to escape. In small bowl, combine 1 egg and water; brush over crust. Roll out reserved 1/4 cup dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into decorative shapes and arrange on top of crust. Brush with egg mixture. Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 35 minutes or until deep golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

My Birthday!

We took Bella to the beach for the first time. It's only a couple hours away so we can go there pretty often. We went to La Jolla beach. Bella loved it. She wasn't scared but her daddy was! He was so worried about her and wouldn't let go even though she struggled to escape lol. She wanted to swim with those seals.

I decided that we go swimming enough that I might as well just get a pool for the backyard. I had an epic battle with the filter pump and I was defeated. My friends helped me put together the ladder though.

9 Month Wellness Check

When Bella was born she was 6 pounds 11 ounces and 19.8 inches long. Now she is nice months old and weighs 20 pounds and she is 28 and 3/4 inches long. They told me she is a BIG girl. Haha I know. I'm the one that carries her every day.

I feel like I hardly have time left to get the house ready, make all the welcome home signs, Get Bella's outfit put together, and get something perfect for me to wear and figure out what to do with my hair and makeup! I am SO happy this first deployment is almost over. Hopefully they learned many things and experienced lots of different cultures and come back more mature and wise..... yeah right! Marines never grow up! lol. Oh well either way I just want him home!

Little Swimmers

In the evenings here the swamp coolers can't keep up so pretty much all you can do is sit in the pool and die of heat stroke. Swimming and BBQ's are pretty much the only things to do in 29 Palms. Here is Bella swimming with her boyfriend Preston and her friend Maddie (Preston's other girlfriend lol.) She wouldn't stop attacking him. Poor Maddie always gets trampled and splashed. She will catch up real quick though! These three are gonna be such trouble makers!!! Bella is such a rascal! See the pictures where she is tackling poor Preston?!

Idea #7 : Get him a laptop! Do it!

I sent Kelley a small laptop with a webcam a couple months ago. I REALLY wish I would have done it sooner in his deployment because we hardly ever got a chance to talk until he had his own laptop. It is definitely worth it. He always had to borrow someone else's computer or wait in looooooooooooong lines at payphones or the library and had time limits or buy phone cards that didn't work half the time and cost a million dollars. We skype all the time and he gets to see little Bella and Bella gets to see him. I would recommend using Skype or Yahoo messenger. Yahoo has video chatting and he can text your phone from his computer if you aren't at home so you can still talk throughout the day. These are things I wish I would have known sooner! Here are some snapshots I took while Skypeing with him. : )

Back in 29 Palms

We have been back in 29 Palms for a couple weeks now and we are just enjoying the warm weather. (a little too warm) Bella loves going to the pool and she swims with her friends Preston and Maddie. She could probably live in the pool if I let her. We are just hanging out waiting for her Daddy to get home next month. Almost done!

Idea #6: Do A "Motivating" Photoshoot for Him

Here are a few of the pictures that were taken. My mom actually ended up taking them and I think she did a great job! I am really camera shy so she came up with the poses and everything! I had the playsuit outfit made by D-JENN on etsy. It was inspired by the Marine Corps Dress Blues uniform. She did an awesome job! I totally recommend her work. Then I sewed my husband's rank on the chest. I am SO using it as a swimsuit this summer. I can't wait to send the pictures to him just as soon as I can get my car problems sorted out so I can get to the post office. : )

Idea #5 : Send him a taste of home

I took some pictures of the things I included in this package but my camera won't connect to my computer. Lame Sauce : ( I put together a Father's Day package for him because it is the last package I will be sending him since the last one only took a few days to get there but it took his chain of command a month and a half to get off their butts and give him his mail. He gets home in about a month and a half yay! Anyways I made him some no bake (Missouri) cookies. I have THE best recipe ever. I know that they are the easiest things to make in the world but this recipe is just somehow WAY better than all the rest. I think because it uses A LOT of sugar and real oats instead of oatmeal nast. I stacked them in Pringles cans to keep them from crumbling....(a good trick my mom learned while my dad was in Iraq) Also my husband's mother made some really good cookie bars for him. Next I picked out some pictures of some nice memories and printed them off on this special paper I got at Walmart and cut them out and ironed them onto a pillowcase. Then I had Bella help me paint a picture on it for him with fabric paint. Then I sprayed it with perfume so it smelled like me. Hopefully it makes him feel a little less alone. (I left one side of the pillowcase blank so he doesn't have to sleep on lumpy paint and pictures!) Me and his mom went and picked out a ton of snacks like Reeses and sunflower seeds and random stuff to fill up the empty space in the box. I got two cards for Father's Day. One from me and one from Bella. I put lipstick on Bella and she left little kisses all over her card. Next i took a compact mirror and wrote on the outside ," Guess who I'm thinking about? Look inside to find out!" Then I left a lipstick kiss on the mirror and put a little note inside that lists a bunch of things I miss and love about him. So that's it! Hope somebody can get some good ideas from this!

Mother's Day....FINALLY

My husband is deployed so I don't get to talk to him very often even though he is just on a MEU in Japan. For Mother's Day he did the classic trick where he avoids me and ignores me on Mother's Day and pretends he forgot and then surprise! Flowers! Except the flowers NEVER came. My husband felt SO bad and I was super pissed because why couldn't they fail to deliver to someone who got breakfast in bed and a babysitter and a hot date and a night of romance with their husband. I get NONE of those things so the least they could do is deliver my flowers GOSH!! I waited a couple days and then called Just Flowers to see what the issue was. I rescheduled delivery THREE times and then tried to get a refund TWICE. Nothing ever came and whoever the local florist was claimed they delivered the day after Mother's Day! Lies! Finally I guess I bugged them enough and called them enough that they gave me my flowers on the 27th just to get rid of me. They are so beautiful and it will get even prettier as the flowers bloom. The ballon says I love you. Today Tomorrow and Forever. AWWW! and the card says,

" Hi Sweetheart,

I just wanted to show you how much Bella and I appreciate you. You are a good mother and an amazing wife. I hope this helps make your day a little better. Be home soon!

I looked up a ton of ideas and put together a little package for my husband using lots of different ideas. My package to him includes : a letter I sprayed with perfume (before writing otherwise the ink will spread all over) some lingerie undies (washed of course yuck!) and pictures of me in them. ( OMG BLUSH i can't believe i admitted that) I wrote a love quote on the back of each picture. I also took a crazy funny picture so that it wasn't too seriously cheesy. As a joke I looked for the cheesiest romance novel I could find and tore out a couple really funny graphic pages. The novel I found is called " A Pirate's Pleasure." LOL! The lover boy in it is even named Hawk! Which I didn't even realize when I bought the book. Since my husband is in the military he goes by his last name at work and so he is "Hawk" at work instead of Kelley. I thought it was a really funny coincidence. Also his bank card got cancelled so I send him a little cash with each letter. I put in a 20 dollar bill with a big lipstick smooch on it. Hope he likes it!!! This is so not like me cuz I have a REALLY hard time being romantic and cheesy. Plus I'm a huge prude. I hate PDA!

Bella Rose 6 Months

My sisters got professional pictures done of their kids by a lady who has an in home studio and she had a few pictures left on her camera so she offered to snap a few of Isabella. She does a great job! This is Bella when she was almost 6 months old. She is almost 7 months now and I am already planning an outfit for her next photos. hahaha babies are just so dang cute. She looks just like her daddy and nothing like me....I LOVE IT!!!

Write a famous (or random) love quote at the top of your letter or email.

In High School I was never good at long distance relationships. For me if he was out of sight he was out of mind. Now I am a military wife and that just doesn't work. I think about my husband every second but don't really know how to let him know that I do since he isn't here? I have been researching things you can do to keep your long distance relationship romantic and keep him twitterpated while he is gone. Today I will start writing a love quote on the top of each letter to my husband. This is a cheesy way to start a letter and gets my brain on the right track to writing a good lovey letter. I forgot exactly what the quote I used today said but it was really sweet...they don't even have to be far away for you to do this! You can leave a little love quote note in their lunchbox or under their pillow.I also printed a tiny picture of our baby on her first Easter so he doesn't feel so left out. I will keep you posted on things I try and maybe you can use some of my ideas for your long distance love....

Tu Tu Leg Warmers

So I worked hard all day and made some pretty cute blue and green tu tu leg warmers. I think they turned out really cute and I am pretty proud of myself. Most of the time I fudge the bucket and my stuff turns out lame and I wish I had done things different but this time I didn't dissapoint myself. YAY! I'm also really excited because in a couple days I will add up all our sales for March and make our first donation to JFA.

Car Show

Tonight my dad took us to a roadster car show. It was pretty cool. There were lots of REALLY nice cars (duh.) I met a guy named William in one of the booths who used to be a Marine and I bought a metal sign of a pin up girl in a Marine cami color swim suit and helmet that says," Hit the Beach," and he gave Bella a sweet little sign for free. Awesome! I have been getting lots of free stuff lately....Anyways, my favorite car was a really cool old woody. I want it soooo bad! Oh well our Dodge Neon gets us where we need to go....most of the time lol! For some reason I can't get the pictures to post so I will have to try later...

It's hard to be in the military. It's hard to be married to the military... but it is somehow worth it and you create bonds and friendships that you can't get anywhere else. I am proud of my husband and I am SO glad I don't have to worry about paying for health care...even though sometimes military hospitals make me want to scream lol! I can't wait to have my husband back in July and I miss him tons! I miss seeing what a great daddy he is. He used to do EVERYTHING for me and I got spoiled and now he is gone and I am dying without him. I don't think I changed one diaper the first week after Bella was born...I also don't think I got off the couch the first couple weeks....or was it the first three months lol? Idk how single moms do it...or Army wives...Marines are only deployed about 6 months.....army is at least 12 I think! I'm SO SO SO very lucky.

My sister and I went to Pocatello to visit my other sister. It was fun. We went to the pool and my daughter LOVED it. It was nice to see her and her baby since all of my family lives in the Boise area except her... well and me. My sister got professional pictures taken of her son and daughter and then she had some pictures left on her camera so we popped Bella in a tutu and took some. I am SO excited to see how all the pictures turned out. She does really great work and has taken pictures of my nephew and his cousins before so they should be amazing. I can't wait to post them! I still need to post our family Christmas pictures.......

Legwarmers

Fontanna and I made a ton of legwarmers. They are great for when the little ones start crawling and will fit up until they are fairy princesses (or princes lol) running around. They will especially be great for where I live because it gets SO hot in the summer that my baby girl will probably only wear a diaper and a pair of these to protect her legs. It really doesn't get below 110 degrees for most of the summer. Anyways I am gonna make a tutu for my daughter and slap a pair of these on her for her professional 6 month pictures. I'm pretty excited! Well the precious little monster is starting to scream. Gotta go love on her.

Today me and my sister and our friend Kayla got together and crafted like grannies on steroids. I put this together using a beautiful old chain and brooch.

My sister, Fontanna, and I decided to start an etsy shop to help with the pro life cause. We will be donating a percentage of our store's profits to an organization called Justice for All. We really like how they actively go out and set up a booths and stuff to spread awareness. Every single baby they save counts. They might save our future President or the person who will cure cancer or someone who will jump in front of a bus to save your life. Who knows? Our shop is called Little Lives Count. We only have a few things in it right now but we will add more soon. I will also probably be closing my HawKrafts shop and moving all the items to our new shop. : ) Here is a picture of me as a youngin. This is a choker my sister made. It is my favorite.

I sold these two items in my shop the past couple of days. The ruffle pants are probably one of my most favorites. They are absolutely adorable! I love the model way more than the pants though. lol. I'm surprised I have been having pretty steady sales since I havn't added anything new to my shop for a while. I'm just kind of letting it sit and clear out a bit while I focus on getting things done around the house. I think LINK LOVE has helped a lot too. You discover so many cool sellers that way. Too bad I have to put my shop on vacation mode since I am flying back home while my husband is deployed. Oh well it will be nice to take a break from this crazy desertand it's 115 degree weather and flash floods!!!

2010 Etsy sales so far this year...

I have had four sales so far this year. Not very many but not too bad since it's just a hobby. I really want to get into it more but I am going to have to put my shop on vacation since I am moving back home for four months while my husband is deployed. I have had 100% positive feedback from customers so far which I REALLY didn't expect. I have made 39 sales since I started in June. I was pregnant and lonely and bored and needed something to keep me busy. Back then my house was pretty much spotless so I just had to tidy up and then I had nothing else to do but craft Craft CRAFT! I bought some patterns recently and I want to practice some more at sewing. I really love to sew. Anyways I plan on doing a FREE giveaway once I reach one hundred fans on my facebook fan page

We just moved and right after we moved we went home to Idaho for two weeks for Christmas. Now that we are home Kelley is getting deployed on Thursday for six months. On top of that Bella is teething and her and I both have a horrible cold/cough. I am going back to Idaho in February for about three months... we don't know what we are going to do with Kelley's anaconda because no one will ship it to his mom's pet store and no one will let me fly with it. But we can't just leave it to die. Anyways there is so much we need to do before Kelley leaves but I doubt we will have time. I will probably end up doing it all after he leaves. Good thing I got that power of attorney..... My hobbies will just have to wait because I don't even have time to do the things I need to do! I'm totally stressed out but here are some Christmas pictures!

.....Can stay in Vegas cuz it pretty much sucked. I am sad to say I did not have very much fun.

:( I think Las Vegas is too big and it is for people who like to party. I'm more into beauty and nature. I'd really rather go to Yellowstone or even a theme park. But I think Kelley had some fun and that is good. The baby crying the whole time probably didn't help either.... but we walked down a little bit of the strip which was fun and the drive there and back was pretty fun. We saw some of those creepy FLDS church people at a gas station. The woman had that hairdo they do and the men looked inbred in overalls. It was interesting. They had a Utah license plate.
